Materials:
            16- 4oz. Skeins 4-ply knitting worsted weight yarn
             Q-hook

Gauge: 4st = 3"

NOTE:  Afghan is worked with 3 strands now and throughout.
With 3 strands chain 96 loosely.
Row   1:  sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across(95sc), ch             
               ch 1, turn.
Row   2:  sc in each st across, ch 1, turn.
Row 3-6:  repeat row 2
Row   7:  sc in first sc,*puff st in next sc (to work puff st- yo    
                hook, go into sc and pull up a loop, yo hook, go into   
                sc pull up a loop, yo hook, go into same sc and pull
                up a loop, yo hook and pull through all 7 loops on
                hook), sc in next sc, repeat from * across row ending
                with 1 sc, ch 1, turn.
Row 8-12: repeat row 2
Row    13: repeat row 7
Row 14-22: repeat row 2
Row     23: repeat row 7
Row 24-28: repeat row 2
Row      29:  repeat row 7
Row  30-46: repeat row 2
Row    47: repeat row 7
Row 48-52: repeat row 2
Row   53: repeat row 7
Row 54-62: repeat row 2
Row   63: repeat row 7
Row 64-68: repeat row 2
Row   69: repeat row 7
Row 70-75: repeat row 2

Break off.

Fringe:  cut 8 strands of yarn 25" long. Work fringe every               
             3rd st on long sides nad space evenly across on short
               sides.  Once fringe is on you can make diamond
               shapes by taking ½ of one fringe and ½ of the one
               next to it and knotting fringe.  Do this all the way
               around, and then do it twice more to make diamonds
               all around as in picture.

 Standard;Ripple Afghans

Materials:  12 skns. knitting worsted, 3 skns ea. of 4 different colors.  crochet   
                   Hook size F(5)

Pattern:  Start with the darkest color.  Ch 310, sk 1st st from hook, work 1 sc in ea. of next 2 sts, inserting hook in horizontal thread back of ch st, sk 1st st, * 1 sc of each 11 sts, 3 sc in next st, 1 sc n each of 11 sts, sk 2 sts,repeat from * 11 times, the last time sk 1 st, 1 sc in last 2 sts taking up both threads.(This gives a neat edge so that a border is not necessary.)  There should be 12 scallops.

Make 4 rows of this color.

Make 4 rows of next 3 colors.

Repeat ripple from dark to light shades til afghan is finished.  Darn in all ends neatly.


 Granny Ripple

Materials:  Worsted weight yarn:  26oz. Bright Navy
                                                   14oz. Red
                                                   14oz. Light beige
                                                   Hook size I

With navy, ch 210 loosely.

row1:   sc in 2nd ch from hhok and in each rem chs across = 209 sc
row2:   Ch3, turn; sk 1st 3 sc,(3 dc in next sc, sk 2 sc) 3 times; work (3dc, ch3, 3dc) in next sc for point; *(sk 2 sc, 3dc in next sc) twice[to work cluster:(yo, insert hook in st and draw up a loop; yo and draw through 2 loops on hook) 3times; yo and draw through all 4 loops on hook= cluster made]; sk 4sc , cluster in next sc; (sk 2 sc, 3 dc in next sc) twice; sk 2sc, work (3dc, ch3, 3dc) in next sc for point; rep from* 7times more; sk 2 sc, (3 dc in next sc, sk 2 sc) 3 times, dc in last sc.
row3:  (pattern row)- Ch3 turn; sk 1st sp(between first dc and 3-dc group); work 3dc in each of next 3sps(between each pair of 3-dc groups),(3dc, ch 3, 3dc) in ch 3 sp at point,*woek 3dc in each of next 2 sps; cluster in next sp, sk sp between clusters, cluster in next sp; work 3 dc in each of next 2 sps, (3dc, ch3, 3dc) in ch-3 sp at point; rep from * 7 times more; work 3dc in each of next 3 sps, dc in last sp(between last 3-dc group and ch-3).
rows4-7:  Rep row 3 four times.  At the end of row 7 change to red in last dc.[to change colors; work dc until 2 loops rem on hook; finish off color being used, leaving 4" end for weaving in later.  With new color (leaving a 4" end), yo and draw through 2 loops on hook= color changed.]

repeat row 3  in the following 12-row color sequence;
    3 rows red
    3 rows beige
    6 rows navy

repeat previous 12-row  color sequence, 7 times more.  At the end of last row, finish off and weave ends in.
